Borderline is an MLB umpire simulator. We are committed to being transparent about how the app works. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal information. All game statistics and preferences are stored locally on your device.

The app uses Google AdMob to serve ads to non-premium users. AdMob may collect certain data as described below. Premium subscribers (Borderline Pro) have all ads removed and are not subject to ad-related data collection.

Game statistics — your accuracy, streaks, points, and session history are stored locally via Apple's SwiftData framework. This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us.

Preferences & settings — notification preferences, reminder time, and premium unlock status are stored locally via UserDefaults and Apple's StoreKit.

No account required. We do not ask you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in with any service.

The free version of Borderline displays banner and interstitial ads powered by Google AdMob. Google may collect the following data to serve relevant ads:

• Advertising identifier (IDFA) — only if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt when you first open the app.
• Device identifiers (IDFV) — used by AdMob for frequency capping and fraud prevention.
• Approximate location — inferred from your IP address for regional ad targeting. Your precise location is never accessed.
• App usage data — ad impressions and interactions (e.g. whether an ad was tapped).

You can limit ad tracking at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. You can also opt out by purchasing Borderline Pro, which removes all ads permanently.

Borderline communicates with the following external services:

• MLB Stats API & Baseball Savant (Statcast) — to fetch real pitch data and game schedules. No personal identifiers are sent. These are public MLB data sources.
• Google AdMob — to load and serve ads (free users only).
• Apple App Store — to verify and process in-app purchases via StoreKit.
• Apple Game Center — to authenticate players and submit leaderboard scores. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Apple Push Notification service (APNs) — to deliver daily challenge reminders if you enable notifications. No message content is stored on our servers.

All purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see or store your payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple and StoreKit.

Borderline uses Apple Game Center to maintain a global leaderboard. If you are signed in to Game Center, your Game Center alias and score may be visible to other players on the leaderboard. This is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Borderline is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The app is rated 4+ on the App Store.

If we make material changes to this privacy policy we will update this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
